their talents.
Alexandra
Bazetoux, aka Yaya
Alexandra Bazetoux, who also goes by her artist's name "Yaya”, is a young
French contemporary artist.
She spent her youth in Paris surrounded by animals mostly horses, a life-long
passion. Even as a young child, Alexandra was forever throwing off the
constraints of society in her continual search for freedom. Painting, which
began as a child's distraction, quickly became not only a means of expression,
but also a means of escape from the oppressive conventions of society.

There are many themes that Alexandra uses in her painting to communicate her
need to fight anything that can dampen the human spirit.
- The Horse series: Alexandra expresses her strong passion for
horses and the effect they have in her quest.
- The Cities series: Cities, cities and more cities, all imaginary,
where each individual feels so small and unable to escape. The artist cries
out her thirst for liberty.
- The Nudes series: This vibrant series is inspired by body art.
- The Children's series: Small canvases inspired by children's
stories and painted for children!
- The Perth series: Alexandra felt a sort of electro-shock when she
arrived in Perth a few months ago. This change of horizon has opened her
eyes and presented new themes to her through which she can express herself.
She has left the oppressive world of cities and has come into the liberating
contact with nature.
